Welcome to the website of the Cultural Governance Code 2019. Here, we provide information about governance for those who work in the cultural sector in the Netherlands.
An English translation of the Cultural Governance Code has been provided for your convenience. In this translation, effort was made to adhere to the meaning of the original Code as closely as possible. This inevitably creates a few dilemmas, because the Dutch governance system differs significantly from the situation in English-speaking countries. Therefore, we have attempted to provide as much clarity as possible about this in the list of definitions. Nevertheless, should the text raise any questions, please contact Cultuur+Ondernemen. In case of any discrepancies between the Dutch and English text, the Dutch version prevails.
